Rachel Campbell – Violin, Viola & Cello Instructor

Rachel Campbell is a passionate musician and teacher with a wide musical background. She credits the violin with sparking her love for music, but her experience learning guitar and self-teaching piano as a teenager gives her a unique perspective on teaching string instruments and various styles of music.

Rachel holds a degree in Music Education from Kennesaw State University, where she studied under Helen Kim (Juilliard School).  Rachel’s experience teaching in the elementary and middle school classroom setting, where she developed skills including classroom management, lesson planning, and adaptability, has contributed greatly to the quality of her teaching in private lessons. Parents and students often remark on Rachel’s patience and ability to relate with students, build confidence in their playing, and create a fun and relaxed environment while establishing solid playing techniques.  Rachel has been teaching violin, viola, and cello at Sandy Springs Music since 2014.

Shannon Ciaravella

Shannon has been studying and performing violin since age 8. She graduated with a B.A. in Music Performance from Cleveland State University in 1999. Since then, she has been teaching violin at the Galloway School, the Lovett School, and out of her home. One of SSM’s longest tenured, and popular teachers, Shannon is always striving to get the very best out of her students through positive and enthusiastic reinforcement in her lessons. Aside from her teaching duties, Shannon also performs around Atlanta doing gigs as a soloist, with classical quartets, and with rock bands; including her own rock-funk band Dynagroove. Her aim is to introduce the voice, soul, and gift of music through the violin to her students and their audience.
