Carter McMullen has been teaching private piano lessons in Atlanta and Athens, Georgia for over five years; with an emphasis on classical training, music theory, and improvisation at the keyboard. He received his Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from the University of Georgia in 2004, and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Piano Performance at Georgia State University. He was the winner of the GMEA and GMTA piano competitions in 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, and 1995, and participated as a convention recitalist. He was also the winner of the Gershefski Music Scholarship Competition, in addition to having received a scholarship from UGA’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music. He is an active performer, whose activities range from solo and chamber classical recitals, to both public and private jazz performances throughout the southeastern United States. In 2005 and 2006, he was invited by the Chase Educational Foundation to tour Argentina giving performances and master classes as an Ambassador of Music representing the USA abroad. In addition, his December 2008 South American concert tour will be expanded to include performances in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
