SSM’s summer Rock Band Camp will be the highlight to your child’s summer camp experience! Our students will learn how to play in a real rock band in our newly designed rock band room. Students will not only learn the team building skills needed to function in a band setting, but they will also be learning rock history, playing musical games, how to make a music video and more! Our week is capped off by a live stream performance from our band room to the world! Sign up now as space is limited! Camp is open to students on guitar, singing, drums, bass, keys, and sax. Skill level must be advanced beginner and above. Ages 8-14 are welcomed!

Digital Abyss was formed in June of 2018 and bring the energy and enthusiasm that only a group of 8-12 year olds could bring to the table! Specializing in modern folk rock and with their signature two drummer line up, these kids are not messing around and are ready to ROCK!
Wyatt Garfinkle – Age 8 – Drums
Wyatt has been playing the drums for aproximatly one year and does an amazing job holding down the back beat for the band. Wyatt is also an avid baseball player who’s team made it all the way to the finals in their league this summer!
Ella Marks – Age 9- Guitar/Vocals
Ella is a rising 4th grader at the Galloway School and is the one of the singers and guitarists for Digital Abyss. Ella’s upbeat attitude and energy are one of the keys to DA’s fun loving feel in their music! Besides her love of music Ella also keeps busy playing soccer, basketball, horseback riding, and rock climbing.
Layla Szikman – Age 8 – Keys/Vocals
Layla has been singing and playing piano since the age of 4 and loves bringing her talents to the band in whatever way she can! Layla draws her inspiration from artists such as The Beatles, Green Day, Elton John, Billy Joel, Brandi Carlile, and movies such as Moana and The Greatest Showman. Layla is also involved in gymnastics at Jumpstart Gym and theatre at Orbit drama academy. She was recently in the ensemble cast for Honk Jr. and The Aristocats.
Nadia Allen-Krincek – Age 12 – Drums
Nadia has been a drum student at SSM for a little over a year and adds her experience and talents to round out the rhythm section of Digital Abyss. Nadia’s other interests include reading, anaconda’s and other exotic animals, traveling, and hopes to one day own her own condo in Hawaii! (don’t we all! ;).
Ryan Brill – Age 11 – Guitar & Bass Guitar
Ryan comes from a family steeped in the love of music and concert going. In his 9 years Ryan has seen more than his fair share of concerts from Phish to Dead & Company, here in Atlanta, all the way to Red Rocks in Colorado! Ryan’s other interests include fishing, video games and being an armature outdoors man. He hopes to one day run the Nature Shack at Camp Barney Medintz.
The Electrix are a progressive rock band bursting onto the Atlanta Music Scene in 2018! The band is comprised of 5 aspiring musicians between the ages of 8-12!
Here is a little more about each member:
Jackson Greene – Age 9 – Guitar
Jackson currently attends Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School where he is a rising 4th grader. Jackson has moved back to the states after his family was living abroad in England for the past 4 years. Jackson has been playing guitar for 3 years and taking lessons at SSM for the past year under the tutelage of Brian Puleo and Doug Webb. Jackson draws his musical inspiration from bands such as Coldplay and is very excited to be part of such an awesome band as the Electrix!
Teagan Johnson – Guitar – Age 9
Teagan is a budding guitarist who’s love of music is partly inspiried from the band “Imagine Dragons”. She has been playing the guitar for 3 years and she has come a long way since her first song, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. She current attends Holy Innocents where she is a rising 4th grader!
Mira Rose Cochran – Age 8 – Keyboards
Mira is a native of Atlanta, GA and has a deep love of all things Music. She has been playing the keyboard for a little over a year and loves that she can express her emotions in colors through her music! Mira has one little brother who does his best to “drive her crazy” every chance he gets!
Catherine Cox – Age – Drums
Beginning her musical journey on the violin, Catherine then tried her hands on the piano before finding her true calling behind the drums! Her favorite band is Green Day and is currently claims “Holiday” as her favorite song by them! In addition to music Catherine has a strong love of horses and her own horse “Darty” that she gets to ride as much as possible!
Anne Cox – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar – Age 11
Anne is the Singer of the Electrix. She has been taking voice lessons at SSM for 2 years and has been involved in musical theatre for over 8 years. Her favorite music genres include broadway, rock, 80’s and modern pop. Anne is a rising 6th grader at Westminster and very excited for what the new year will bring! Catherine, Anne’s younger sibling, is the drummer of the Electrix by day, and the cause of Anne’s headaches by night!
