Tessa Walker is nearing completion of a Music Education degree from Kennesaw
State where she is a member of the Chamber choir and is the vocalistfor one of the Jazz Ensembles. Through her connections to the Jazz World, this past Fall of 2017 she had the opportunity to sing with Joe Gransdens 16-Piece Big Band at Café 290 in Sandy Springs, GA.
Uniquely, Tessa is an active and award-winning singer in the Barbershop Harmony
Society and Sweet Adelines International organizations. Additionally, she
has studied voice for over 10 years and piano for five. In the Summer of 2017, Tessa was
picked for the prestigious $5,000 Young Singers Foundation Scholarship given
to one deserving Music Education major each year. Over the past couple
years, Tessa has had several rewarding musical opportunities that have
furthered her desire to teach music. She co-founded and directed a local
senior citizens choir in Johns Creek, GA. Tessa was also the Assistant
Music Director for Theatre 5230’s productions of Rock of Ages (Summer 2016)
and Bring It On (Summer 2017, where she also debuted as the Pit Director).
She was the Music Director for Ebenezers Drama Camp in Conyers, GA in the
Summer of 2017, where she also taught private students as well. She is excited for the future and can’t wait for the opportunity to share her love of teaching and music at Sandy Spring Music.
